Stew, Step-Dancing, and More at Raglan Road
Hey guys! I
made another visit to Disney Springs, this time to go to a restaurant called
Raglan Road. It features some traditional Irish entrées, such as fish and chips, beef stew, and delicious mashed potatoes,
but also has some non-Irish foods, some with that Ireland twist. Some examples
of those are “Mammy’s Roast Chicken,” steak, burgers, and risotto.
Inside,
there are many tables, some in rooms off to the side. The restaurant is
decorated to look like a typical Irish pub, with lots of wood and accents like
pretty stained-glass windows. In the main room, there is a stage tucked into
the wall and a little platform for solo performers in the middle. Some tables
are just feet away from the stages!
On the
stages, you will find fiddle players, bands, and step-dancers—all Irish! Sometimes
the step-dancers will pick random kids from the audience to come on stage. Then
the professional dancers teach them some moves and they perform for the restaurant!
Lastly, this
eatery is also very good for kids. The kids’ menu has six entrée options—grilled
chicken, a cheeseburger, fried chicken tenders, fish and chips, mac and cheese,
and shepherd’s pie. The restaurant is also decently loud, so if a young kid
starts yelling, the music and happy diners will hide the sound.
I got the
kids “Little Big Burger,” which is a beef burger topped with Dubliner cheddar
cheese. For my side, I ordered mashed potatoes, which were served in a bowl
with an interesting shape, as seen above. The burger was a decent size and
juicy, and the mashed potatoes were deeeeeelicious!
The rest of
my family chose more traditional Irish dishes. My mom got fish and chips, my
dad got bangers and mash, and my aunt got beef stew. I tried everyone’s dish
and really liked my dad’s sausage and my mom’s chips/French fries. If you’re in
the mood for Irish food and a good time, Raglan Road is the place for you!
Sounds like a fun place! I'll have to check it out next time I'm at Disney.
