Donuts, Parks, and Downtown Too!
Hey guys! I recently had a fun outing in Englewood, Florida! We got donuts, did a little hiking and wildlife spotting, and checked out downtown Englewood.
First, we went to a yummy donut shop called Abbe’s Lil Donut Nook. My mom and I got
a chocolate-frosted donut with sprinkles and a chocolate cake donut and split them in
half, so we each got to try two kinds. I loved both kinds and thought they were
delicious!
The shop was
cute, quaint, and small, but the donut selection was huge! A big case held all the donuts, so you could see and
mull over all your options before making a final choice and digging in.
To eat your
donut(s), you could sit down at one of the four two-seater tables and enjoy! The
donuts come in bags, so you can also pop in before a long meeting if you are in
need of some sugar or caffeine and take one on the road.
Next, we
went to Lemon Bay Park. We hiked along two trails: one in the woodsy area,
called the Eagle Trail, and one along the Intracoastal Waterway. Sadly, we didn’t
see any bald eagles, but if you go, be on the lookout, because there are some
that nest there!
Lastly, we
went to Historic Dearborn Street in downtown Englewood. It was very pretty and quiet, and there were some
really interesting stores. Some of my favorites were Englewood Antiques, Old Florida Gallery and Outdoor Center, and the Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay gallery. I liked the antiques store
because some of the things in it were really interesting, and I liked the other
two because they had cool Florida-themed art and gift items.
Another thing
I liked about Dearborn Street was that it had lots of painted
benches! I enjoyed finding and taking pictures of all of them, and I loved some
of the things painted on them, such as butterflies, flowers, and a sun.
So if you
are ever in Englewood and looking for something fun to do, I would highly recommend
any or all of these things!
Thanks for all the great info! 🍩🦅🌲🚶♀️👍
